Our Eternal Security is the Work of God

We all like to be secure and have the knowledge that something we possess will achieve what is intended for it to achieve, or remain the same or even preferably with a better reward and status quo, than when we invested the capital and time.

God has invested His capital in us, and He has a desired effect and desired results from His investment in us.

It is not that God will have moments of insecurity, if those investment results are not secured, but His disappointment will be obvious after God having equipped us with all that we will ever need, and then we fail to reach the mark that He intended for us.

God’s plan is to bless us infinitely for all eternity, beyond our imagination. He is disappointed when He can’t realise this place of abundant blessing for us.

He doesn’t miss out on any happiness, because He always has been and will always be infinitely secure and with great happiness. But we will miss out on the special rewards and eternal status of ruling and reining with Christ, as the “Friends of Jesus Christ”, the “Medechoi” for all eternity.

To whom much is given, much is expected, but only in accordance with the scripture, as below.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

There are always two in a yoke. Jesus Christ is always there with us pulling in the other side of the yoke. He goes through everything with us.

Presently God is training us to be eternal rulers with Christ, and now during our life on earth is the only opportunity to be ranked with Christ for all eternity. He has provided and desires that we have the capacity for such a place of blessing, for all eternity. We must therefore live our lives in the light of eternity, for the Glory, Name and praise of Jesus Christ.

The choice is yours! Work with Christ, as Christ is working on our behalf for us, and has much work and blessing (sometimes through suffering) in this life for us. He has already planned our workload in eternity past. Just follow His schedule and be on time with God.

Ephesians 2:10

“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

5.       The Irrevocable Riches in Christ

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus.

When we believed in Jesus Christ our life was brought back to God (reconciled back to God irrevocably), we were redeemed and were given a rich garment of righteousness and grace, which cannot be unwound, unpicked, lost or discarded.

What God has done for us in grace is His irrevocable work. We are therefore secure forever. Let’s consider the following verses of scripture.

Ecclesiastes 3:14

“I know that everything God does will endure forever, nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it that men will revere Him.”

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Romans 11:29

“God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.”

Numbers 23:19

“God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. Does He then speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfil. I have received a commandment to bless; He has blessed and I cannot change (reverse) it”

Philippians 1:6

“Confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it onto completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:35-39

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword. – No in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who love us.”

Isaiah 43:25

“I even I, Am He who blots out you transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.”

Psalm 89:33

“I will not take my love from him (Israel), nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.”

From the verses above it is obvious that we have an eternal unbreakable relationship with the Integrity of God, and as such we must trust in and rely on God’s Word and all of His promises.

Psalm 145:8-14

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in mercy. The lord is good to all and has compassion on all He has made. All you have made will praise you your saint will extol You. They will tell of the Gory of You kingdom and speak of your might, so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendour of your kingdom. You kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving (merciful) to all He has made.”

There are hundreds of bible verses that reflect God’s faithfulness and the believer’s security forever.

Our faithlessness doesn’t and can’t cancel the faithfulness of God ever. No matter what series of sins we may commit after salvation. Be sure of this that deliberate failure comes under the scrutiny of God the Father.

Consider David’s Life and failure. It wasn’t worth it, but also consider God’s grace toward him afterward.

We are God’s children and son’s so we can’t get away with anything, because of the Divine law below.

Proverbs 22:8

“He who sows wickedness reaps trouble and the rod of His fury will destroy Him”

Galatians 6:7

“Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”

Hebrews 10:5-6

“My son, do not make light of the Lords discipline, and do not loose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those He loves and He punishes everyone He accepts as a son.

Discipline is to train us out of bad habits and to subtly mould us to the nature of His beloved Son. Punishment (scourging) is for deliberate sin.

God has three parts to our salvation, and three parts to divine discipline.

A:         Salvation and blessing

2 Corinthians 1:10

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us.

On Him we have set out hope, that He will continue to deliver us.”

Part 1 = Salvation from the “Lake of Fire”, which is eternally A gift.

John 10:28

Jesus said, “I give to them eternal life, they shall NEVER perish, no one can snatch them out of My hands.”

Romans 8:1

“There is now therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Luke 7:50, 1 Cor 1:18, 2 Cor 2:15, Eph 2:8

Part 2 = Salvation from the habitual sin of the “Sinful Nature” is

given to us through Jesus Christ and is experienced through

the Power of Word of God and The Holy Spirit, through

which, we learn and obey Jesus’ commands.

Hebrews 10:14

“By one sacrifice, He has perfected forever those who are being made holy.”

Romans 6:14

“Sin shall not have dominion over you, you are not under law, but under grace.”

Phil 2:12-13, 2 Thess 2:13, Rom 8:2

Part 3 = Salvation from sins power over us forever.

Hebrews 6:24

“We want each of you to show the same diligence to the end, in order to make your hope sure.”

Jude 24

“To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with exceeding joy.”

“Salvation is a gift from God, so we can’t boast and brag Him before Him.”

Hebrews 10:36, 1 Peter 1:5, 1 John 3:2

B:         Rebellion and Discipline

1:          Warning discipline

2:         Intensive discipline

3:         Dying discipline

1 Corinthians 11:30 & Hebrews 12

Since we are blessed or disciplined forever, and the blessing of God is so much better - Therefore.

Ephesians 6:7

“Serve whole heartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men. Because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good He does.”

2 Corinthians 5:10

“We must All appear before the judgment Seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due Him for the things done in the body, whether good or bad. (worthless)

We can all receive a good report from Jesus Christ, and hear His approval and praise, or His disapproval as stated below.

Matthew 25:21

“Well Done You Good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness (Joy).”

God wants to give you a full reward, which has been especially made for you! God Tailor made them, just to fit you, perfectly.

Hebrews 10:38

“My righteous ones will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him (have no pleasure in him.”

What happens to our eternal rewards and eternal inheritance, which has been put into our eternal bank account, on deposit for us, if it can’t be realised because we fail God and Jesus Christ? Does it stay in the eternal bank account forever, never to be received?

Our very own eternal rewards and inheritance portion are cast into the eternal “Lake of Fire” forever. WE ARE NOT!

Revelation 2:11

“He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.”

“Part” in Revelation 21:8 is the Greek word “MEROS” and means “Inheritance Portion”

Read this account in Luke’s Gospel.

Luke 15:11-32 especially verse 12 and John 13:1-17 especially verse 8

As Believers in Jesus Christ we can be assured regardless of out spiritual award status, that we will be in heaven when we die.

Revelation 21:4

“He will wipe every tear from their eye’s. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has all passed away.”
