the people and the priests, by the coverings and veils. Lest they die, which happened on occasion, when the Lord broke out amongst them with
fire and plague.

The ground portrays the earth and all who live on earth.
As Christ lived on earth, His Glory
was veiled, but on occasion He revealed His Glory with frightening effect
upon fallen Mankind.
